Skeletons in shop windows. Candles on graves. Sugar skulls, pumpkins, ghost costumes for toddlers. For a few days a year, we let the veil get thin, and then we pack it all back in a box.
But behind the costumes sits something very old and very real. Every one of these traditions began as a way of being in relationship with the dead. Somewhere along the way, we kept the decorations and lost the meaning.
And if you have ever felt a presence in a room, dreamed of someone who had died, or sensed something you couldn't explain, you already know: the dead are not just a theme for one night of the year.
For over 50 years, Terry has been widely sought after for his pioneering work in soul rescue, ancestral healing and land healing: rescuing spirits and clearing negative energies, including hauntings, in homes and sacred sites across the world.
Born a psychic, and able to communicate with spirits from a young age, Terry has developed his soul rescue work by combining ancient techniques with tried-and-tested contemporary methods. His work draws on Celtic shamanism, Native American ritual, and Tibetan Buddhist and African traditions, in which he has been initiated as a Sangoma, a "walker between worlds".
Along with his wife Natalia, he co-founded the Soul Rescuers Foundation, which runs classes, workshops and retreats around the world, helping psychics, mediums and sensitives of all ages to develop their own abilities in service to the souls of the living and the dead.
Very few people anywhere have his depth of experience in this work.
On the evening of Wednesday 28 October, we'll watch an episode from the Soul Rescuers documentary series in which Terry explores, in depth, what ghosts really are. Then we'll hear from Terry himself, drawing on more than 50 years of working with the spirit realm: what it really means to work with the dead, and what ghosts truly are.
Hosted by Desislava Kadra, filmmaker and director of the Soul Rescuers documentary series.
Be prepared for a fascinating, mind-opening evening you won't want to miss.
Halloween and the Day of the Dead began as sacred nights for honouring the dead. We explore the traditions behind the season, from Celtic Samhain to All Souls and Día de los Muertos: where each one comes from, the truth behind them, how they came to intertwine, and the customs we kept without knowing why.
Cultures that never met all tell stories of the dead drawing close, and of souls that linger. We step into the world of ghosts behind these traditions, and ask what these stories might really be pointing to.
The traditions tell us souls can linger. They rarely tell us why, or what to do about it. That's the missing piece. We watch the Soul Rescuers episode on ghosts together, then hear real ghost stories from someone who has spent more than 50 years working with them, as Terry lets us in on the truth behind the myths and answers your questions live.

Soul Rescuers is a groundbreaking documentary series that explores what happens in life after death, ancestral healing, and coming to terms with extrasensory gifts of communicating with the spirits of the dead.
It is based on the life and work of renowned UK soul rescuers Terry and Natalia O'Sullivan, whose more than three decades of pioneering soul rescue practice have taken them across the globe: healing families, releasing trapped spirits, and clearing the unseen energies that shape our lives in ways we rarely understand.
